A 3-year-old girl was struck by a car after police say ran into oncoming traffic in Sunset Park.
The incident happened just after 12 a.m. in front of a home on 50th Street.
Police say that the child was standing on the sidewalk with her mother after coming home from shopping when she suddenly ran in between two parked cars and into the street. She was, then, struck by a 2018 Nissan Sentra, occupied by two adults and two children.
The child was taken to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn and is in critical condition.
The car stayed at the scene.
